  1. Measure A (Term Limits for the Loomis Town Council) began in the Spring of 2009, by Sonja Cupler, Barbara Berklow, and Tom Millward. They saw the monopolization of power and knew that it needed to end.
  2. Over 1,100 Loomis registered voters signed the petition to put Term Limits on the ballot to be voted on, and agreed that the monopolization of power needed to end.
  3. The Term Limits initiative was always intended to go on the June 2010 ballot.
  4. The Loomis Town Council had the opportunity to accept the petition as written, or to put it on the June 2010 ballot. They chose instead to go against the will of the 1,100 Loomis voters signed the petition.
  5. By a majority vote, the Council voted twice to put the initiative on the November 2010 ballot, and that is why it is in a retroactive position.
  6. The residents that support Measure A (Term Limits for the Loomis Council) believe that two terms is long enough for one resident to hold office.
  7. They also believe that incumbents have an advantage of name recognition and because of that have a greater ability to raise campaign finances.
  8. The Measure A Committee has not accepted ANY contributions from developers.
  9. If an incumbent has been in office for 20 years, that’s about 12 years too long!

  1. Why is our town council allowing “pot farms” in Loomis, are these businesses under the same scrutiny that our other ag businesses are.

Is this the type of town council we want, voting not to allow pot shops, but allowing large pot farms?
